According to Keposis, 5.66 billion user identities exist around the start of October in 2025. That’s a huge amount of information if you can make this data meaningful by extracting it.

You can use this data to train LLMs or build sentiment analysis on any topic you want by scraping data from different platforms. However, the problem is to get this data instantly & to get access to this, you would need Social Media Scraping APIs.

There are some APIs out there from the official platforms like Meta Graph API, YouTube Data API, or X (formerly Twitter) API.

But most of these come with some limitations: they're expensive at scale, require complex approvals, and restrict the kind of data you can actually access. The alternative is to use a 3rd party provider.

Hey, I am the founder of WebAPI group. CaptureKit is part of this team. Over the years, while acquiring various API products and using plenty of them myself, I’ve come to know the ins and outs of the ones that truly work.

In this article, we’ll list out all the APIs worth checking out to scrape social media data. I’ve tested each one myself.

Let’s jump in!!

4 Best Social Media Scraping APIs

SocialKit’s Social Media APIs Suite

SocialKit’s Social Media APIs Suite

SocialKit is a new player in the API domain that’s carved its niche in social media data extraction. They provide ready-to-use endpoints for YouTube, TikTok, and other platforms, making it easier for developers to pull meaningful insights without official API restrictions.

Their YouTube APIs currently include:

  • YouTube Summarize API – Returns AI-generated summaries, topics, tone, and timestamps.

  • YouTube Transcript API – Fetches full transcripts with timestamps.

  • YouTube Stats API – Gives views, likes, comments, and engagement metrics.

  • YouTube Comments API – Extracts user comments, authors, likes, and replies.

Each of these outputs comes in a clean JSON format, which is ideal for further processing or feeding into automation workflows.

For TikTok, they’ve launched similar APIs and are actively expanding their endpoints. The founder confirmed that more will be added soon as demand for social data grows.

The documentation is well-drafted and easy to understand. We tested several of their endpoints, and the success rate and response speed were both impressive. It handled multiple requests smoothly, and even large YouTube channels returned results consistently.

The pricing starts at $13, which gives you 2,000 credits for all the available endpoints. If you’re looking for a reliable and economical choice for social data scraping, SocialKit is an excellent option. Its APIs are simple, affordable, and developer-friendly.

Who can use it:

  • Developers and data engineers are building tools that extract insights or analytics from YouTube or TikTok.

  • Marketing teams and analysts who need summaries, transcripts, and engagement data for content research or trend tracking.

  • Automation enthusiasts using tools like Make.com or n8n who want to integrate social data directly into dashboards or workflows.

Scrape Creators

Scrape Creators

Scrape Creators have been in business for around two years. The founder has deep roots in the web scraping niche, has taught courses on web scraping, and is quite active on Twitter as well.

He’s clearly applied his expertise to the product, and most of the endpoints we tested delivered a solid success rate. The platform offers APIs for all major social networks, including TikTok, Reddit, and TruthSocial.

The API is production-ready and scalable, and the documentation is excellent, with video tutorials to help developers get started quickly.

If your team needs data from multiple social platforms, this is a great option. Pricing starts at $47, giving access to all endpoints and 25K credits, with the cost per 1K credits dropping as you move to higher tiers.

All their pricing plans follow a pay-as-you-go model, so you don’t have to worry about unused credits; they roll over to the next month.

Who can use it:

  • Agencies and data teams that manage multiple social platforms and need a single provider for all.

  • Developers building social listening or sentiment analysis tools who prefer ready-to-use endpoints.

  • Businesses or research teams that need continuous social data collection with stable, scalable APIs.

Scrapingdog

Scrapingdog

The next on the list is Scrapingdog social media APIs. They have both general-purpose scraping APIs and dedicated social media data endpoints.

They offer APIs for Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, and LinkedIn, covering various data types like search results, transcripts, and post data.

In my testing, both speed and success rate were excellent. All the data retrieved is public, making the platform reliable and scalable. The company has been in operation for about five years, consistently refining its APIs over time.

Their pricing starts at $40/month, which includes 200,000 credits. However, don’t confuse credits with requests. Each endpoint consumes a different number of credits depending on complexity. For example, a single YouTube API request costs 5 credits.

They also provide a pay-as-you-go (PAYG) option, visible inside the dashboard once you sign up.

The documentation is clear and easy to follow, with concise examples that make integration quick. A major plus is that you can combine their social media APIs with their Google Data APIs if you need to gather insights from both social platforms and Google properties like Search or Maps.

All in all, if you want a scalable and mature solution that covers multiple ecosystems beyond just social, it is a strong choice.

Who can use it:

  • Developers or businesses looking for a single provider that offers both social media and Google data APIs.

  • Agencies building analytics dashboards, SEO tools, or social listening apps that require cross-platform insights.

  • Teams that need large-scale, stable data extraction with flexible pricing and long-term scalability.

Apify

Apify

Apify is a marketplace where developers list their APIs and scrapers for different platforms — and yes, they also have a good range of social media endpoints.

They’ve been in the business for quite a while and offer reliable APIs. However, the sheer number of endpoints from different developers can be a bit confusing when choosing the right one.

I tested a few with the highest star ratings & the success rate was good. I wouldn’t call it excellent, but they definitely get the job done.

Each API lists pricing per 1,000 requests, which makes it easy to estimate your usage and cost upfront. The documentation isn’t as cohesive as some of the others in this list. While there are good examples available, it can feel scattered since each developer maintains their own docs.

Who can use it:

  • Freelance developers or small teams who need quick access to data from multiple platforms without setting up their own scrapers.

  • Agencies that occasionally need specific datasets (like comments, user info, or post analytics) from niche social platforms.

  • Experimenters and prototype builders who want to test an idea fast without committing to one provider.

Overall, Apify is flexible and functional, but works best for teams who are comfortable experimenting and tweaking configurations.

With that being the end of the list, I’d love to hear what you think about this collection. Did I miss any tools, or have you tried any of the ones mentioned here? (SocialKit and ScrapeCreators are the newer players, by the way.)

The good thing about every API in this list is that they offer free credits to try. You can test them in real time and see which one fits your use case best. If you ask me, a few key parameters to evaluate are the success rate, speed, and of course, scalability.

A Little About CaptureKit

We recently acquired CaptureKit as part of the WebAPI Group. It’s a screenshot automation API that lets you capture any webpage, dashboard, or online view at scale, without worrying about rate limits or getting blocked.

Built for developers, SaaS teams, and automation builders who care about clean visuals and reliable performance. The API supports full-page screenshots, device emulation, and geo-targeting, so you can scale your visual workflows effortlessly.

If you’ve read this far, thanks for sticking around. I always enjoy putting together lists like these and sharing tools that genuinely make developers’ lives easier.
